HUSD considers funds for retiree benefits
School district looking to find longterm solution to unfunded liability
The Healdsburg Unified School District is looking for new solutions to a problem that has plagued the district, and many other public entities, for years — an unfunded liability due to retiree benefits.
The district is considering putting money it makes from the Foss Creek School lease agreement with the city into an irrevocable trust, which would draw interest, and allow the the district a consistent revenue stream for retiree benefits.

Hounds footballers turn back McKinleyville, 28-14
Healdsburg advances in NCS playoffs; faces Miramonte Friday
The Greyhounds are alive and well in the North Coast Section division-three football playoffs, surviving a first-round gut-check against a dangerous visiting McKinleyville squad on Saturday to notch a 28-14 win.
The hard-fought victory ran Healdsburg’s record to 8-3 and advanced the team to the second round of the NCS playoff tournament. The seventh-seeded Hounds will travel to face second-seeded Miramonte in Orinda this Friday, Nov. 28 in a 7 p.m. clash.
